The 1896 Monument
The monument, on the grounds of the Fort Raliegh National Historic Site, commemorates the establishment of the "New Fort Virginia" constructed in 1585 and the birth of Virginia Dare in 1587, the first child of born of English parents in America.

The Waterside Theater

The Thomas Hariot Trail
The trail named for the first explorer and scientist in America during the late 1500's. Assigned by Sir Walter Raleigh to see if there were new riches to be discovered in this area, Thomas Hariot discovered new plants, animals, and minerals in this area and beyond.
